Description: Yoga/ Pilates fusion is for those who want conditioning in a balanced way infusing flexibility with core strength and attention to proper technical execution of movements.
Instructor: Katie McNamara
Katie McNamara Katie holds a Washington State ECE certification from Seattle Central Community College, and an Early Childhood Teacher Certificate from Burlington College in Burlington, VT. has been pursuing a healthy, active lifestyle in Seattle since 1992, when she moved here from Vermont. Katie owns, operates, and teaches a small, private preschool in West Seattle. Katie her husband and 10 year old daughter are West Seattlelites. Katie shares her love of fitness and mindfulness and personally trains in Aerobics yoga, free weights, running, swimming, biking and rollerblading, she enjoys it all! And if you haven’t run into her at the gym or the yoga studio, you may have seen her at the local natural food co-op. Katie is certified as a 200 hour Power Yoga Teacher from CorePower Yoga, and has also attained her Barre Teacher Certification from Adrienne Kimberly’s Barre Bohemian . She currently teaches yoga classes and mindfulness to her young students and Power Yoga to adults. She will be teaching Family Yoga, Power Yoga, and Barre at West Seattle Performing arts beginning in the Fall of 2016.

Instructor: Kisha Vaughn
Kisha Vaughan, born in Biloxi, Mississippi and raised in Sacramento, CA has been dancing in and around Seattle for the past 10 years with a focus on hip hop.
Kisha has had the privilege to be a part of various crews including Breaking Point Dance Company, In Effect Hip Hop, and Seattle Storm Hip Hop Squad.
Most recently Kisha was a back up dancer for Macklemore and Ryan Lewis where she was invited to tour the U.S. and Canada.
Performances include Showtime at the Apollo, Folklife, Capitol Hill Block Party, Conan O'Brien, MTV Movie Awards, Billboard Awards, and Bumbershoot.
Currently Kisha teaches hip hop and choreographs. Her work has been seen at various competitions and shows including Monsters of Hip Hop and World of Dance. Kisha's newest venture are the Poison Poppies.
Class Description; NEW!
Hip Hop 6/7 Teen/ Adult Advanced requires previous dance training and will move at a fast pace. Warm up and center floor sequences will be crafted into a piece of choreography. Each week will build on the class prior. We are thrilled to be welcoming Kisha to our faculty. Her national performing experience and work with a major international pop star brings great perspective to our students on the state of hip hop today.

Beginner/ Intermediate Adult Jazz
Instructor: Kellsie Steele
Description: Adult Jazz is open to those who have had some dance in their past and are ready for an evening full of warm ups, isolations, combinations and jumps. This class is a non- performing class. Endurance, flexibility, Musicality and attitude will all be included in this dynamic paced Wednesday night!
Attire: comfortable clothing and jazz shoes.
Bio: Kellsie Steele has studied dance for 24 years, performing nationally in jazz, modern, ballet, pointe, tap, lyrical, and hip hop from the age of 3. She was honorary captain of the varsity cheerleading team at Eastside Catholic High School and was captain of both her Dance and Cheerleading team at Saint Mary's College of California. She trained under the direction of Lori Buffalow and Rachel Jackson of the San Francisco 49ers as well as nationally accredited choreographers Greg Russell, Andrew Vacca, and Jeannine Sabo to name just a few. Kellsie has performed nationally at NCAA basketball tournaments, and as a member of the San Francisco 49ers Goldrush professional cheerleading and dance team has had the opportunity to perform in places such as China and Japan. Kellsie holds a Bachelors degree in Communications and has taught at multiple dance academies in both San Francisco and Seattle. Kellsie joined the Cornish Dance staff in 2014. We welcome her to West Seattle Performing Arts first term.
