Power Barre is great workout for the entire body- Warm up, light weights holding the barre or chair at home, stretching, strong finish with matt work for abs. Give this workout a try from your own living room during your work- day!

Power Barre class is a challenging, fast-paced workout that we can all do! Come work on increasing strength, endurance, and flexibility by working each muscle group start off at whatever level you feel challenges you and then just keep going with us. Take this on zoom or come into the studio at WSPA. Masks required.
Attire: traditional workout clothes, Mat, light weights ( even cans of food can work) Water. Solid Chair or counter to hold onto if working from Zoom.
Stretchy Bands are starting to be integrated into the workout but you can also use a towel.

Instructor: Kellsie Steele
Adult tap welcomes tappers that have had previous experience to continue or revisit their training as children to brush up on skills and learn new steps. Warm-ups, across the floor, and rhythmic combinations that will challenge and stimulate the body and mind. This is a fun class that challenges and creates joy!
Kellsie Steele has studied dance for 24 years, performing nationally in jazz, modern, ballet, pointe, tap, lyrical, and hip hop from the age of 3. She was honorary captain of the varsity cheerleading team at Eastside Catholic High School and was captain of both her Dance and Cheerleading team at Saint Mary's College of California. She trained under the direction of Lori Buffalow and Rachel Jackson of the San Francisco 49ers as well as nationally accredited choreographers Greg Russell, Andrew Vacca, and Jeannine Sabo to name just a few. Kellsie has performed nationally at NCAA basketball tournaments, and as a member of the San Francisco 49ers Goldrush professional cheerleading and dance team has had the opportunity to perform in places such as China and Japan. Kellsie holds a Bachelors's degree in Communications and has taught at multiple dance academies in both San Francisco and Seattle. Kellsie joined the Cornish Dance staff in 2014. We welcome her to West Seattle Performing Arts first term.

Description:
Intermediate Adult Jazz is recommended for adults that have had some dance experience in the past and have a basic understanding of alignment and how to pick up basic combinations. Students who have not danced in a while are encouraged to step back into the studio and get back to their love of dance. This is a fast paced, fun and dynamic workout to fun music. It encompasses warm up ,isolations,abs, planks and full range of motion and full body warm ups. Center floor including turns, jumps leaps, and each class will build on a centre combination. Be ready to have some fun in this class. Adults only!
Attire: Black jazz pants or leggings, black leotard, jazz shoes, T-shirts O.K. hair back.

Deepa Liegel was born in Calcutta, India, and raised in Seattle, WA. She grew up dancing with Cornish Preparatory Dance, Leela Kathak Dancers, and Seattle Theatre Group. She graduated in 2017 from Southern Methodist University with a BFA in Dance Performance and a minor in arts management. Upon graduation, Ms. Liegel moved to New York City to dance with the Limón Dance Company for a season. During the year, she also freelanced with Barkha Dance Company, the Bollywood Boulevard tour and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Ms.Liegel was asked to join the Mark Morris Dance Group - touring domestically and internationally to the UK and Ireland. Performance highlights include the Kennedy Center, Sadler’s Wells, and the Metropolitan Opera. Upon the New York shut down due to Covid-19, Ms. Liegel started teaching with The Ballet Spot and received her Pilates Mat certification with Power Pilates. She’s thrilled to join the faculty at WSPA for the fall/winter season as an artist-in-residence.

Description: Beginner/ Intermediate Ballet Adult ballet is designed for dancers who have had ballet training in the past and are ready to jump back in or want to take their first step into the classroom and try a classical ballet class.
